Harnessing Organometallic Chemistry for More Sustainable Synthesis of Biologically-Relevant Molecules and Bulk Chemicals

Speaker: Michael Young, PhD, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, The University of Toledo Location: 402 N Blackford St. Indianapolis, IN 46202 LD 010

The development of more sustainable strategies for the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals is an important area of research in light of the growing population. Our group is focused on developing new catalysts and approaches for converting unreactive C-H bonds into valuable functionalized products without generating multiple waste streams, as well as improving on both step and atom economy.
